Taking a Year to Linger Longer

With their youngest daughter finishing school and heading off on her own adventure, Colin and Pam recognised that this was the year to dive in on a long-held desire to travel and minister together. They have spent the better part of this past year visiting our Issachar Tribe around the world — logging more than 60,000 kms in flights alone, not to mention countless hours in overnight taxis, buses, tuk-tuks, and ferries. Their mission has been intentional: to invest deeply in training local leaders within several of these nations. 

Colin and Pam are the founders of Mobilise Global, an organisation that seeks to empower leaders with solid training and materials in their language and in their context.

Their heart for this year was not simply to arrive, teach, and leave — but to remain long enough for relationships to deepen, for questions to be asked, and for truth to be sought out. By lingering longer, they have been able to better understand the realities, contexts and different world’s that these leaders navigate every day.

Colin is a gifted teacher, and he has been masterfully unpacking the story of Jesus throughout all of Scripture through Mobilise Global’s Intro-Biblical Theology course. This teaching — now translated into three different languages — has been invaluable in equipping leaders.

Colin and Pam’s passion for understanding the Word through a biblical lens was formed through their own cross-cultural experiences. Their worldview was confronted when they moved to a new nation to lead a church, informing them firsthand how our understanding of Scripture is filtered through our own worldview. Colin set out to develop a truly Biblical-world view and lens through which to interpret the Bible, and out of that journey, their ‘Biblical-Theology’ teaching material was born. They both carry a sensitivity to culture and humility, coming under leadership and serving side by side. This heart posture together with their incredible giftings has brought empowerment, and lasting change in the lives of those they have journeyed with. Pam and Colin have also often been deeply struck by the lack of materials available to those who are courageously leading churches, at times even without a bible, which has further fuelled the heart of their mission.



So far, their journey has taken them through Myanmar, the UAE, England, Tanzania, and Malawi. They are now currently with our partners in Pakistan and will finish the year off in Mozambique.

We have seen the fruit of this ministry so clearly — through the testimonies of joy, of renewed understanding of Scripture, and leaders sharing fresh revelation of who Jesus truly is. The enthusiasm and transformation witnessed is testimony that the year to linger longer has made an impact, one that will continue to ripple through these communities and unreached people groups for years to come.
